NIH T32 Postdoctoral Fellow

As an evolutionary genomicist with a PhD from Penn State, my doctoral research delved into mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA), specifically investigating mutagenesis, the impact of mitochondrial-nuclear genome interactions on gene expression, and mtDNA translocation into the nuclear genome. I’m currently an NIH T32 postdoctoral fellow in the Nieves-Colón lab, where my work, in collaboration with the Zaidi lab, explores the genetic basis of complex traits in modern Hispanic Caribbean populations.
